A New Captain
This series marks a genuine changing of the guard for Zimbabwe’s white ball leadership. Richard Ngarava takes over as ODI captain, his first time leading the side in the 50 over format at any level. He replaces Sean Williams, who has stepped away from the squad while in rehabilitation for drug addiction and is not currently being considered for selection.
Ngarava arrives in the role fresh off leading Zimbabwe’s pace attack in that historic Test win, and he’ll continue leading the same bowling group here, alongside Blessing Muzarabani, Brad Evans, Newman Nyamhuri and Ernest Masuku. The spin options come from two all rounders, Burl and Wessly Madhevere, plus left arm spinner Masakadza.

ODI start times are based on the same venue’s Test match schedule and should be confirmed closer to each fixture. The Test match itself wasn’t part of the current World Test Championship cycle, and ended in Zimbabwe’s favour with an innings and 85 run win, their first Test victory over Bangladesh in four years.
The tour then shifts entirely to Bulawayo’s Queens Sports Club for the three match T20I series, with Zimbabwe’s T20I squad still to be announced.
