Pitch Report

Every WCL 2026 game so far has been played at Sharjah. Early in the event the runs came fast. First innings scores like 242/5, 218/4, 209/5 and 203/6 were common, and teams chased 210 and 221.

But the last two games here were low scoring. Australia made just 119 and still bowled West Indies out for 83. Bangladesh made 141/9 and stopped India at 138/8. In both games the side batting first won.

Spin has done the most damage lately. Enamul Haque jnr took 4/12, Piyush Chawla 3/24 and Pawan Negi 2/22 in the Bangladesh vs India game. Imran Tahir has gone at under 7 an over all season. For fantasy, pick at least two spinners. Pacers have gone for plenty, so only pick the ones taking wickets.

If the pitch stays slow, a score of 160 to 170 should be a good total. Batting first looks the better call.

Weather Report

Sharjah will be hot on Wednesday. The day high should be around 38 degrees, dropping to near 29 degrees at night. Some cloud is likely but no rain is expected, so we should get a full 20 over game.

Probable Playing XIs

South Africa Champions: Richard Levi, Faf du Plessis, AB de Villiers (C), JP Duminy, Morne van Wyk (WK), Colin Ingram, Wayne Parnell, Hardus Viljoen, Shaun von Berg, Imran Tahir, Marchant de Lange.

Final XIs come at the toss.

Match Prediction

South Africa Champions should win this game. They have not lost yet, and Levi, de Villiers and Duminy are all scoring big runs. Tahir is also keeping the runs down in the middle overs. Bangladesh are coming off a good win over India, and their spinners can make it hard if the pitch stays slow. But South Africa have more batting depth. Our pick is South Africa Champions.
