The timing could hardly be worse for Galle Gallants, who built part of their squad identity around bringing in an explosive overseas wicketkeeper batter. No replacement signing has been announced for Litton’s spot as of now. The LPL begins on July 17 with Jaffna Kings facing Galle Gallants in the tournament opener at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground, so the franchise has very little time to fill the gap before their season starts.

For Litton himself, the picture is now about long term recovery rather than any particular tournament. Bangladesh have a packed international calendar ahead, including series against Australia, South Africa and India, and the team management has already flagged his fitness as a priority heading into that stretch.
